Job Location: Salemtowne - Winston Salem, NC 27106Position Type: Part TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: AnyJob Category: Health CareJob Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) administers nursing care in a skilled nursing community under the supervision of the Director of Nursing or another medical supervisor and operates under the direction of physician orders. Provides basic medical care including assessing resident condition and monitoring for changes in condition, wound care, administering medication, resident /caregiver education, obtain specimens per physician orders. Ensures the health, comfort, and safety of patients by assisting with bathing, feeding, and dressing.

Essential Job Functions
  • Models and ensures others are providing medical treatment in a manner that honors elders’ preferences and individuality.
  • Ensures appropriate and adequate Resident care by reordering medications as prescribed, and maintaining accurate and up to date records, including but not limited to Nursing Progress Notes, Treatment Records, Assessments, Incident Reports, etc.
  • Ensures consistency by monitoring compliance with the requirements of regulatory agencies and internal policies and procedures.
  • Manages the delivery of nursing care through the on-going supervision, teaching, and evaluation of nursing personnel as specified in the legal definition of the practice of nursing.
  • Communicates in-service and educational needs regarding new diagnosis or treatments to the ADON and the respective Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator.
  • Confirms Residents have received their scheduled showers and that ADL care is provided residents as expected.
  • Exhibits a strong positive attitude toward customer service and have a genuine interest in individualized person-centered care and upholding the philosophy of home and community.
  • Understands, complies with, and promotes all rules and best practices regarding Resident Rights.
  • Promotes meaningful relationships with residents, families, visitors, and regulators, always reflecting a professional appearance and attitude. Encourages both Resident and family involvement in Resident care to the maximum extent possible through education, and ensures appropriate resources are available.
  • Maintains professional and technical skills up to date by attending mandatory in-services, participating in Staff Development, maintaining licensure by pursuing continuing education.
  • Supports the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Promotes exceptional customer service by participating in Salemtowne Shines and fulfilling the commitments and values of the program.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Graduate of a state approved nursing program.
  • Registered Nursing (RN) license in good standing with NC Board of Nursing.
  • CPR certified or the ability to become CPR certified.
Physical Requirements
  • Capable of standing and walking short distances for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and /or pull objects more than 50 pounds.
  • Stoop and bend at the knees, twisting from side to side at the waist.
  • Reach above, below, and at shoulder level.
Work Environment

Works in a clean, well-lighted facility. Possible work hazards include bloodborne pathogens, moving parts, muscular pains, and strong offensive odors.
