Job summary

Majestic Care of Southport is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Indianapolis, IN. The RN will render skilled nursing services, supervise CNAs, and support medical care as directed by the nursing management team to ensure high-quality resident care.

Responsibilities include developing individualized care plans, administering medications, coordinating with other departments, and participating in staff training. Active RN license in Indiana and CPR certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• Active RN license in the state of employment.
• CPR certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead care planning conferences and develop individualized nursing plans.
• Assess and document residents' conditions and nursing needs.
• Implement physicians' orders accurately and promptly.
• Administer medications, start IVs, and document treatments per regulations.
• Participate in orientation and in-service training for staff.
• Assist physicians with tests and procedures within state nursing practice.
• Report pertinent observations and reactions about residents.
• Coordinate nursing care when residents undergo therapy or procedures.
• Initiate emergency measures for sudden resident changes.

Education

Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

Position Overview:

Majestic Care Nurses render skilled technical nursing services to residents within an assigned unit/wing in support of medical care as directed by the nursing management team; supervises CNAs to ensure a high quality of care is provided to all residents in that unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate and lead team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans.

• Assess and document the residents’ condition and nursing needs.

• Accurately and promptly implement physicians’ orders.

• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments for assigned residents and document that treatment as required by Majestic Care and local, state, and federal rules and regulations.

• Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel.

• Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act.

• Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.

• Coordinate nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.

• Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

• Licensed as an RN in the state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing.

• Valid CPR teaching certificate preferred but not required.
