Job summary

Huckeye Health Services LLC is seeking a registered nurse to oversee psychiatric care delivery in our facility in Texas. The RN will assess patients, plan care within timeframes, document findings, and supervise shift operations to ensure policy-compliant, high-quality care.

Requirements include an Associate’s degree in nursing, an active RN license, CPR and de-escalation certifications within 30 days, and preferred experience with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, and geriatric patients.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required within 30 days of employment.
• De-escalation certification required within 30 days of employment.
• Associate's degree in nursing required.
• Current RN license per state regulations.
• Experience in a psychiatric health care facility preferred (chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, geriatric).
• Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning and external review communications.

Responsibilities

• Will assess the patient and plan care within set timeframes and document findings according to policies.
• Will oversee and supervise the shift.
• Demonstrates leadership through duties including delegating tasks and meal supervision.
• Oversee staff to ensure nursing policies and patient care is delivered consistently.
• Monitor patient for change of condition and respond, up to physician notification.
• RN will follow hospital policy for medication administration.

Job description

• Demonstrates leadership through duties that may include delegating tasks such as groups, close observation, meal supervision, etc
• Will also oversee staff to ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is consistently delivered by self and all members of the team
• Will monitor patient for change of condition and respond accordingly up to and including notification of the physician
• RN will follow hospital policy for medication administration

Certifications:

• CPR certification is required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
• De-escalation certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.

Experience:

• Associate's degree in nursing required.
• Current Registered Nurse license as required by state regulations in which the facility operates.
• Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
• Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.
