Job summary

Ciena Healthcare in Ohio seeks a Registered Nurse to oversee and coordinate resident care during assigned shifts, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations governing the facility.

The RN supervises LPNs, CNAs, and other staff, develops care plans, and serves as a resource for residents, families, and team members to ensure continuity of high-quality care and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years of nursing experience in long-term or sub-acute care.
• Current state license to practice as an RN.
• Current CPR certification or CPR certification within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises LPNs, Medication Aides, CNAs/STNAs and other staff providing direct care.
• Plans, assigns, and directs work in alignment with resident needs and staff capabilities.
• Prepares work assignments, adjusting for staffing levels and resident safety.
• Receives staffing-related calls and arranges replacements as needed.
• Transfers employees among units per staffing demands.
• Completes performance evaluations and provides input on hiring, disciplining, or terminating staff.
• Adjusts break schedules and resolves staff concerns.
• Oversee unit operations during absence of higher-level management.
• Use independent judgment in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating resident care plans while ensuring the highest degree of quality care and safety.
