Job summary

Friendship Village of South Hills, part of Lifespace Communities, is hiring an RN to provide direct nursing care to residents at our Pennsylvania campus. The role oversees orders, administers medications, and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to plan and evaluate resident care.

The position emphasizes accurate documentation, training of new staff, and smooth shift handoffs to ensure continuous, high-quality resident care in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• RN license and state licensure required.
• One year of nursing experience in a long-term facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct nursing services to all residents on assigned neighborhood or program.
• Provide hands-on/on-the-job training to newly hired team members.
• Provide skill set retraining as assigned.
• Oversee physician orders, verify transcription to electronic record system and treatment plan; administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Supervise and provide leadership to clinical and non-clinical team members.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to review, plan, coordinate and evaluate resident care.
• Document resident condition and nursing needs accurately and timely.
• Report pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents promptly.
• Execute treatments as necessary; document status and observe reactions to meds and treatments.
• Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers to deliver quality service.
• Plan resident admission as ordered by physician; perform assessment, verify orders with physician, notify pharmacy/lab/other departments.
• Provide thorough handoff reports to on-coming shift to ensure continuity of care.
