Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) seeks a Licensed RN to join our Bluebonnet Detention Center team in Anson, TX. You will participate in rounds, administer medications, and coordinate with physicians to provide urgent and routine medical care to detainees.

Candidates must hold a Texas RN license, CPR, and comply with state nursing scope. We offer full-time and PRN opportunities with 12-hour day/night shifts, a $5,000 bonus for full-time, and a $4/hour shift differential.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree required.
• Current, valid RN license in Texas or a compact state.
• CPR certification required.
• Must work within Texas State Board of Nursing scope.
• Must complete required pre-service training.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Attend sick calls with physicians to assess detainees and prepare exam space/equipment.
• Call physicians for medication/treatment orders and other emergencies.
• Administer medications, document treatment accurately per policies/procedures.
• Examine detainees and refer to emergency room as needed.
• Review medical files to ensure services are documented.

Pay Rate:$42/hour full-time; $39/hour PRN

Bonus: $5,000 bonus for Full-Time positions

Shift Differential: $4/hour 2pm-6am Mon-Sun

Employment Type: Full Time and PRN positions available

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, day and night

Essential Responsibilities:

• Attend sick call with physicians to see detainees and prepare examining room/equipment.
• Call the physician for medication and treatment orders and other emergencies.
• Operate pill call, administer medication, and accurately/completely document treatment as required by applicable policies and procedures.
• Examine/assess detainees with illnesses/injuries and confer with physician to refer detainees to the emergency room as required by their condition.
• Review medical files to determine all provided services are documented.
• Closely monitor all potential catastrophic illnesses.
• Provide health counseling and health education on individual or group basis, as required.
• Prepare/disseminate safety and accident report as required by policies/procedures.
• Take appropriate action in cases of serious and unusual incidents and emergencies.
• Perform rescue functions at accidents, emergencies, and disasters by administering basic emergency medical aid, physically removing people away from dangerous situations, and securing/evacuating people from confined areas.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Degree in Nursing required.
• Current, valid nursing RN license in the state of Texas or compact state.
• Must possess a current CPR certification.
• Must work within Texas state board of nursing scope of practice.
• Must successfully complete required pre-service training.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
