Job summary

Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse in Radiology/Special Procedures for a full-time day shift. The RN will apply the nursing process to deliver high-quality patient care and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes clinical knowledge, professional standards, and ongoing education to meet specialty requirements and ensure safe, effective care.

Qualifications

• RN license in Virginia or compact multi-state in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
• Education pathways include Associate, Bachelor, Diploma or Master’s degree in nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Apply standards of practice and professional performance across ethics, communication, collaboration, and education.
• Meet specialty-specific requirements and participate in health promotion and patient teaching.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty.
