Job summary

Indiana University Health Ball Memorial in Muncie, IN is seeking experienced nurses to join the adult oncology progressive care unit team. The unit is a 25-bed ICU-style floor caring for hospice/end-of-life, cancer, COPD, and acute illness patients, with a Team-Based Acuity Adaptable Model and daily nurse rounds for continuity of care.

Roles include PT Days with every third weekend and holiday rotation. An ASN is required; BSN preferred; active Indiana RN license and BLS.

Qualifications

  • ASN required; BSN preferred.
  • Active Indiana RN license or NLC RN license.
  • BLS certification required; other advanced Life Support may be required per unit.
  • Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program; exceptions reviewed by CNO if >2 years acute care experience.

Ball Memorial’s adult oncology progressive care unit is a 25-bed unit specializes in the care of hospice/end of life care, cancer patients, patients with COPD, and those with weakness due to acute disease. This unit is one of our hospitals TBAAM (Team Based Acuity Adaptable Model) units. This model consists of an interdisciplinary team that rounds daily with the clinical nurse to provide better continuity of care for our patients.

  • Unit staff comprised of traditional IU Health employees, long term domestic travelers, and international nurses.
Qualifications:
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Education: The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
    • Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
