Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital is seeking an Endoscopy Registered Nurse to support patient care in a fast‑paced environment. Responsible for nursing processes, care coordination, and patient/family education throughout endoscopy procedures.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN and Illinois RN license with 1 year of related experience, strong communication, and customer service skills. This role requires flexibility for overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts, within our comprehensive

• BSN required for all new hires after 2011.
• Licensed RN in Illinois.
• 1 year of experience in similar role.
• CPR—BLS and ACLS credentials are required.
• Effective English communication (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Comply with Illinois Nursing Practice Act and ANA standards.
• Ability to use interpreter services as needed.
• Flexible to scheduling changes including overtime, weekends, and on-call.

Responsabilidades

• Nursing process: collects/analyzes data, identifies outcomes, plans care, coordinates delivery, evaluates progress.
• Directs care and utilizes any assistants involved in patient care.
• Involves patient/family in care decisions, education, discharge planning.
• Ensure patient safety and reduce errors per National Patient Safety Goals.
• Assess and manage pain; educate on pain control.
• Perform effective hand-offs to next healthcare provider.
• Fulfill required on-call assignments.

The salary range for this position is $39.00 - $62.40 (Hourly Rate)

Description

The Endoscopy Registered Nurse reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

• Nursing process - Collects and analyzes data, identifies expected outcomes, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes.
• Directs care and determines the appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care.
• Involves patient/family to participate in their care, including teaching, continuum of care and discharge planning.
• Performs all aspects of patient care in a manner which optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors incorporating the National Patient Safety Goals.
• Adequately assesses and reassesses pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding methods to manage pain.
• Demonstrates effective hand-offs to the next healthcare provider.
• Assumes required on call assignments.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required for all new hires after 01/01/2011
• Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
• One year of experience in similar role
• CPR – Basic Life Support
• CPR – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Consistently works within the framework of the Illinois Practice Act for Nursing and ANA Standards of Professional Nursing Practice.
• Ability to assess and determine situations requiring an interpreter and to use the interpreter services effectively.
• Must be flexible to scheduling changes including overtime, weekend hours and on-call responsibilities.

Preferred

• Three years of experience in a similar role
