Augusta Health in Virginia seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver patient care during assigned shifts in the OR and PACU, coordinating the medical plan and nursing standards of care. The role requires adherence to age-specific considerations and hospital policies, with the ability to guide other staff in fast-paced surgical environments.
Ideal candidates possess RN licensure, BLS, ACLS/PALS within six months, and prefer PACU/OR experience.
Responsible for the delivery of patient care for assigned patients on a specific shift worked. Coordination of all aspects of the medical plan and nursing standards of care using the nursing process for Pre-op, Post-op, PACU, and OR. Also directs and guides the activities of other personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Must be able to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the operating room including the principles of growth and development over the life span. Must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs as they relate to the surgical experience. Must be able to provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures. This nurse would be responsible for providing patient care as the OR circulator and the post op recovery nurse.
