Job summary

Promises/The Ranch PA is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide professional, direct client care in a medical detoxification and residential program setting. You will collaborate with the health team to evaluate and coordinate patient care according to nursing standards.

Requirements include an accredited RN program completion and an active RN license; 3–5 years of behavioral health or residential detox experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited RN program is required.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fulfillment of patient’s medical orders and address patient medical concerns.
• Triage medical concerns, administer medications and injections as directed by physician.
• Monitor client self-administration of medication.
• Serve as first line in medical emergencies and coordinate with clinical team for psychiatric emergencies.
• Perform laboratory procedures from specimen collections, as authorized.
• Record patient observations accurately in patient records following nursing standards and policy.
• Communicate with patients, physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff.
• Oversee admission/discharge processes including pre-screening, obtaining health data and health history.
• Inventory and care for patients’ personal possessions and discharge paperwork.
• Ensure appropriate medication on sheets and timely administration, including disposal where needed.
• Adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality policies; participate in training on chemical dependency.
• Maintain infection control/employee health practices.
• Maintain current knowledge of clinical nursing procedures per policy and state/federal guidelines.
• Maintain professional boundaries with clients, families, referrals, and vendors.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse provides professional, direct client care ina medicaldetoxification and residential program settingsin accordance withestablished program procedures. This position provides, delegates,coordinatesand evaluates patient care through the collaborative efforts of health team members andin accordance withthe nursing process and standards of care and practice.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Communicate with patients, physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff.

• Oversee all aspects of admission/discharge process, including:

• Pre-screenofnew patients forappropriateness foradmission.

• Obtain physical assessment data and health history.

• Inventory and caring for patients’ personal possessions.

• Complete discharge paperwork.

• Provide quality assessments to client’s medication sheets and files todetermineif clients are receivingappropriate medicationin a timely manner, including proper destruction of medication.

• Follow all policies and procedureswith regard topatient information protection, including alcohol-drug patient confidentiality and HIPAA.

• Attend training on chemical dependency asrequired.

• Maintains and adheres toestablishedinfection control/employee healthprogram.

• Maintain anddemonstratesa current working knowledge of applicable clinical procedures and nursing care based on company policy and State and Federal guidelines.

• Maintainappropriate professionalboundaries with current clients, family members,referralssources and vendors.

Education:

• High school diplomaor equivalent

• CompletionofaccreditedRN program,required.

• Associates or Bachelor’sdegree, preferred.

Certifications:

• Current, valid RN license.

• Current BLS/CPR certification.

Experience:

• Minimum three to five (3-5) years of experience in behavioral health or residential detoxification programsettingis preferred.
