Job summary

Medcor is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a PRN/on‑call role at our onsite clinic in Clinton, IA. The RN will provide hands‑on patient care for workplace injuries and illnesses, perform basic primary and urgent care tasks, and support workers' compensation and Return‑to‑Work programs.

The position emphasizes collaboration with leadership, client stakeholders, and external providers, with clinic hours Monday through Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm, and no guaranteed hours.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required and valid in the state of IA.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Ability to work independently with strong time-management.
• Excellent clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on patient care for workplace injuries and illnesses.
• Deliver basic primary and urgent care within the onsite clinic scope.
• Support workers' compensation case management and RTW programs.
• Coordinate care with external medical providers as needed.
• Perform pre-employment screenings and PATs.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in EMR.

Looking to pick up extra nursing shifts in a clinic setting without committing to another full-time schedule?

Medcor is looking to hire a Registered Nurse (RN) on a PRN/as-needed basis to serve as an Onsite Health Nurse in our employer-based clinic in Clinton, IA.

This clinic provides basic primary care and urgent care services in addition to the assessment and treatment of workplace injuries and illnesses, giving you the opportunity to use a broad range of your nursing skills in an onsite clinical environment.

Please note: This is a PRN/as-needed position with no guaranteed hours. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 9:00am–5:00pm. If you have weekday availability and are interested in picking up occasional shifts, we encourage you to apply.

In this role, you'll provide hands‑on patient care while supporting workers' compensation case management, Return-to‑Work programs, employee health initiatives, and the daily operations of the onsite clinic. You'll also collaborate with Medcor leadership, client stakeholders, and outside medical providers to help ensure employees receive appropriate and timely care.

A Typical Day in the Life of a Medcor Onsite Health Nurse

Clinical Care & Injury Management

• Provide nursing assessment, treatment, and follow-up care for workplace injuries and illnesses

• Provide basic primary and urgent care services within the scope of the onsite clinic

• Evaluate employees and guide care using Medcor's evidence-based treatment protocols

• Respond to workplace medical situations and coordinate additional care when appropriate

• Support workers' compensation case management and treatment plan monitoring

• Assist with Return-to-Work (RTW) programs

• Coordinate care with outside medical providers when needed

• Perform pre-employment and post-offer screenings

• Conduct Physical Assessment Testing (PATs)

• Support employee health and wellness initiatives

Clinic Operations

• Support daily operations of Medcor's onsite clinic

• Maintain accurate medical documentation and charting using electronic medical records

• Provide exceptional customer service to employees and client stakeholders

• Support OSHA recordkeeping and other required documentation

• Build and maintain strong relationships with employees, client partners, and the Medcor team

• Follow established clinical, operational, and compliance processes

What You'll Need

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license applicable to the position

• Current CPR/BLS certification

• Ability to work independently with strong time-management and organizational skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Comfortable using computers, electronic medical records, and other technology

• Ability to lift a 50-pound emergency response bag

• A positive, professional, and patient-focused approach

• Availability to pick up occasional weekday PRN shifts

It's a Plus If You Have

• Occupational health or worksite clinic experience

• Primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine, or critical care experience

• Workers' compensation or case management experience

• Experience working independently in a clinical environment
