Job summary

Baylor Surgicare Fort Worth I is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse to join our PreOp PACU department. This role provides patient-centered preoperative and post-anesthesia care in a physicians-owned ambulatory surgery setting.

The RN will adhere to perioperative standards, collaborate with surgeons and staff, and contribute to a high-quality care environment in Fort Worth, TX. Emergency readiness and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical patient management.
  • Excellent teaching and patient-family education skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality pre-op and PACU nursing care using the nursing process and care plans.
  • Deliver safe, patient-family centered perioperative care across populations.
  • Support mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Report to the Manager of Peri-Operative Services.

Registered Nurse PreOp PACU at Baylor Surgicare Fort Worth I:
  • The Pre-op/PACU Registered Nurse provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies.
  • The RN Pre-op/PACU provides safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations.
  • Supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • The RN Pre-op/PACU reports to the Manager of Peri-Operative Services.
Qualifications:
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
License
  • Current TX Nursing License
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Pre-Op/PACU. Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical, ER, ICU, or OR setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
  • Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
  • Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics.
  • Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed.
  • Excellent teaching skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians and fellow employees. (TEAMWORK)
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Demonstrate accountability, creativity, innovation and be receptive to change.
  • Possess basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology.
