Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide patient care using the nursing process and to maintain patient rights and confidentiality. The role includes coordinating care with other departments and evaluating care effectiveness of direct care givers, in line with Mercy Service Standards.

Requires RN license in Missouri or compact state, BLS certification, and unit-specific certifications as needed. This position supports Mercy's mission and values in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or completed within 30 days of hire.
• One or more unit-specific certifications may be required (ACLS/ALS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, CPHON, OCN, BLS, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., C-EFM).
• Physical requirements include the ability to push/pull/lift 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and bend/kneel/twist/squat.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accountability for patient care and confidentiality of patient information.
• Evaluates care effectiveness provided by direct care givers and coordinates patient care with other departments.

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Experience:

Certifications: Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department-required timeframe:

• ACLS/ALS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses)
• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
• C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
• Other unit-specific certifications as required.
