Intermountain Health seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for St. Marys Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, CO. The RN provides professional care, assesses patient needs, and coordinates with the care team across pre‑op and PACU settings to ensure safe, quality outcomes.
This role requires a BSN and an active RN license with BLS, plus transfer of compact licenses within 60 days. Three 12‑hour shifts, rotating call, and a robust benefits program with PEAK education are offered.
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Provide seamless patient care before and after procedures requiring anesthesia, ensuring thorough assessments, education, recovery support, and care coordination. Three 12‑hour shifts. Pre‑Op Start Time: 5:45 AM. PACU Start Times: 6:30 AM, 8:00 AM, or 9:00 AM. Shift assignment and start times vary based on whether you are scheduled in Pre‑Op or PACU. Self‑scheduling is utilized, with schedules balanced to meet departmental staffing and operational needs. Call Requirement: Approximately six call shifts during each 8‑week schedule, which may include weekday, weeknight, and weekend call. Holiday Coverage: Rotating holiday call and coverage responsibilities are required.
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.) May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time. For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
