Job summary

Methodist Hospital is seeking a qualified RN to join our Perianesthesia/PACU team. This role manages the episode of patient care in partnership with patients, families, and the care team to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes across Pre-Procedure, Phase I, II, and Extended Recovery. Required: Associate degree/diploma in nursing, Minnesota RN license, and current PACU experience.

BLS, ACLS, and PALS within 3 months. 0.9 FTE, 12-hour Day/Evening shifts, weekends (Friday-Sunday).

Qualifications

• Must have PACU experience and MN RN license.
• ACLS and PALS required within defined timelines.
• BLS required at hire or per AHA guidelines.
• New grads are not considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care episode in Perianesthesia in collaboration with the care team.
• Coordinate and supervise PACU care across Pre-Procedure, Phase I, II and Extended Recovery.
• Support interdisciplinary collaboration and ongoing education.

Position Summary:

The RN – Perianesthesia/PACU position manages the episode of patient care in partnership with persons, care givers, groups and other providers to reach a shared goal of delivering safe, quality health care. This patient care may be through direct care by the RN, or it may be through coordinating and supervising patient care delegated to, Nursing Assistants and other unlicensed assistive personnel.

This position is to work throughout Perianesthesia Department, to include Pre-Procedure Assessment, Pre-op, Phase I, Phase II, and Extended Recovery.

Work Schedule:

• 0.9 FTE; 12 hr, Day/Evening; Weekend only (WSP) - Every Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of a school of nursing; minimum of Associate degree/Diploma in Nursing required.
• New grads not considered.
• Current PACU experience is required.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
• Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License
• BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines
• Must have ACLS on start date
• Must have PALS within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ICU, Critical Care, Emergency Center experience within the last five years.
• CPAN or CAPA certification preferred.
