Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join Boca Recovery Center in Galloway, NJ. This role supports clients’ medical needs during recovery, manages infection control, performs patient assessments, and handles medical documentation, ensuring high standards of care and compliance.

The position is on-site, night shift, per diem, with reporting to the DON. Strong communication, nursing licensure in NJ, CPR certification, and experience in substance abuse or psychiatric settings are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in New Jersey with active license.
• CPR certification required and maintained.
• Experience in substance abuse or psychiatric settings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Ensure infection control practices and reporting.
• Conduct urinalysis toxicology data analysis.
• Enter orders for all clients in the facility as instructed.
• Triage medical issues and perform thorough patient assessments.
• Document client symptoms and health-related complaints in the EMR.
• Maintain communication with scheduling coordinators and doctors.
• Lead HIV/Hepatitis and Nutrition groups and complete associated documentation.
• Attend all scheduled staff meetings.
• Maintain clear, written logs of client activities.
• Report significant questions, concerns, and complaints to counselors or administrative staff.
• Complete all required paperwork including medical logs, shift reports, and MORs.
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
• Assist in the medical training of BHTs as needed.
• Be available for overtime if required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.

• Several years of experience in a substance abuse or psychiatric setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and must be available to work weekends and have schedule flexibility.

Education & Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) credential in New Jersey required.
• CPR certification required and must be maintained during employment.
