UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Illinois is seeking an RN to provide comprehensive nursing care on a night shift, including medication administration, patient assessments, and effective handoffs. The role offers strong patient-focused care and collaboration within the care team.

Starting pay is $37.50/hr with a 36-hour week, night schedule, and rotating weekends/holidays. Eligible clinicians may advance salary through the Clinical Ladder Program based on experience and achievement of criteria.

Qualifications

  • RN license required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Associate degree in nursing required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsabilités

  • Ensure appropriate use and stewardship of medical supplies and equipment to support patient safety and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure safe and effective handoff communication and documentation.
  • Follow CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrate appropriate use of PPE, perform hand hygiene according to policy and enforce safety regulations.
  • Promote a positive patient experience by demonstrating caring behaviors, maintaining clear communication, and collaborating with the care team to provide safe, timely, and effective whole-person care.

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills appropriate to patient's level of care
  • Collects and documents patient health data systematically and timely.
  • Conducts thorough, ongoing assessments of patients, analyzes assessment data and develops individualized, evidenced based plans of care
  • Implements interventions from the plan of care timely, safely, and appropriately, documenting actions taken.
  • Collaborates and promotes timely patient placement by following hospital policy for patient admission, discharge, and transfer.
  • Participates in peer interviewing as needed.
  • Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff, maintaining professional relationships and promoting a positive environment.
  • Educates patients and families on health conditions, procedures, and care plans, ensuring understanding and compliance based on assessed needs.
  • Maintains compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies ensuring legal and ethical practice.
  • Participates in initiatives related to quality, safety, effectiveness, efficiency, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
  • Serves as a patient advocate, ensuring patient rights and needs are respected and addressed.

Job Description:

Starting pay at $37.50/hr

Schedule: 36 hours/week; Nights 6:45pm - 7:15am, w/rotating weekends and holidays
