Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Observe facility policies and procedures.
• Prepare patients for planned procedures.
• Obtain patients' medical histories.
• Administer medications per physician orders.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Communicating to the patient and the care team in an effective manner.
• Relaying information to appropriate personnel concerning a patient’s condition.
• Educating the patient including providing instructions in preparation for discharge.

• Appropriate documentation of care.
• Supervising non-licensed personnel as assigned.
• Maintaining appropriate supplies and medication.
• Assisting with the preparation and performance of procedures.

Centurion Surgery Center is looking for a Pre Admission Testing/Pre-Op Nurse (PAT) to join our growing center.

OVERVIEW

Provides ongoing assessment and nursing care to patients in the facility in accordance with Physician’s orders, policies, procedures, and processes within the scope of practice. Participates in the teaching of patients and family and provides leadership by working cooperatively with the other health care team members. Collaborates with physicians and team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. Maintains standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

The Pre Admission Testing/Pre-Op Nurse (PAT) may act as the interim Clinical Director in the absence of the Clinical Director as designated by the Governing Board.

SKILLS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, active, unencumbered, Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida.
• BLS and ACLS certified.
• Current Pre-0p/PACU experience (within past 2 years) preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to)

• Observing facility policies, procedures, and processes.
• Preparing patients for the planned procedure.
• Obtaining the patient’s medical history, including medications, allergies, and reactions.
• Carrying out physician’s orders.
• Observing the patient’s medical condition including vital signs, affect, pain, and symptoms requiring further evaluation and treatment, and escalating concerns to the physician.

• Relaying information to appropriate personnel concerning a patient’s condition.
• Educating the patient including providing instructions in preparation for discharge.
• Administering medications per physician order.
• Appropriate documentation of care.
• Supervising non-licensed personnel as assigned.
