Job summary

Lakeside Behavioral Health System, part of Universal Health Services (UHS), seeks an RN to provide professional psychiatric nursing care on a designated unit. The role integrates with the multidisciplinary treatment team and adheres to ANA standards. The RN may assume Charge Nurse duties as needed.

Education: Accredited nursing program graduate; BSN preferred; TN RN licensure. One year of psychiatric nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BSN preferred.
• One-year psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• Licensure and registration by the Tennessee Board of Nurse Examiners as RN.
• Knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age-specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management and CPR training.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care on a designated unit per ANA standards.
• Coordinate and delegate nursing care integrated into the multidisciplinary plan of care.
• Be accountable for assigned nursing activities on a shift and promote professional nursing practice.
• May assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health and the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care. The Registered nurse prescribes, coordinates and delegates nursing care utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The Registered nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit. The Registered Nurse may also assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as required.

Job Requirements

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.

Experience: One-year prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Licensure and registration by the Tennessee Board of Nurse Examiners as a registered nurse.
