Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PACU at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO. The role is part-time with day shifts, requiring a Missouri RN license and BLS certification. 1 year PACU experience preferred; ACLS/PALS/TNCC or unit-specific certifications may be needed.

The PACU nurse will use the nursing process, coordinate with departments, and ensure patient rights and confidentiality are upheld according to Mercy standards.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current Missouri RN license (or compact licensure) to practice nursing.
• BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS, TNCC or other unit-specific certifications may be required.
• At least 1 year of RN/PACU experience preferred.

Experience

At least 1 year of RN/PACU experience is preferred.

Required Education

Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure

Current RN license within the state of Missouri and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed. Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining license. Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Other unit specific certifications as required.

Physical requirements/demands

• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
