Job summary

Novant Health's East Cooper Medical Center in Mount Pleasant, SC seeks a Registered Nurse for the Recovery unit on a 12-week seasonal contract. You will work three 12-hour shifts with call, delivering patient-centered care across the lifespan and collaborating with the care team.

Education and licensure are required, with a preference for one year of relevant experience. Certifications (BCLS/ACLS) are expected at hire, with opportunities for advanced credentials in the future.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required or graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN licensure in the appropriate state is required.
• If RN license has been inactive for five years or more, complete a Board-approved refresher course before reinstating.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the healthcare needs of assigned patients.
• Delivering care to patients across the lifespan, from infants to geriatrics.
• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to meet hospital and unit goals.
• Delivering care in accordance with established standards and departmental guidelines.
• Float to other comparable nursing units as needed.

What You'll Do

• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the healthcare needs of assigned patients
• Delivering care to patients across the lifespan, from infants to geriatrics, unless otherwise specified
• Collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to meet hospital and unit goals
• Delivering care in accordance with established standards and departmental guidelines
• Flexibility to float to other comparable nursing units as needed

What We're Looking For

Education:4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.

Experience:One year relevant experience, preferred.

Licensure/Certification:Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.

Successful completion of the nursing service orientation program

Completion of IV Therapy training or demonstration of IV competency within one year

Annual participation in Skills Fair and completion of required competency checklists

Maintains department-specific competencies and/or certifications

BCLS and ACLS certifications required at hire

Advanced certification in specialty field and/or active membership in professional organizations encourage
