Job summary

University of Vermont Health Network seeks a Registered Nurse for the Oncology Infusion team. You will administer chemotherapy and biologics, manage central lines, educate patients and families, and coordinate care with physicians and pharmacists.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license required.
  • Oncology nursing certification preferred but not required.
  • Chemotherapy/biotherapy certification preferred or in progress.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
  • Experience with central venous access devices and infusion therapy preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer chemotherapy, biologics, and supportive infusions per protocols.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor for adverse reactions.
  • Manage central venous access devices and infusion equipment.
  • Educate patients and families on treatments, side effects, and symptom management.
  • Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
  • Document care in the EHR following regulatory and institutional standards.
  • Apply evidence-based oncology nursing practices and safety guidelines.
  • Support quality improvement and clinical research initiatives in the infusion center.
  • Precept or mentor nurses and students as needed.
  • Pursue ongoing oncology education and competencies.

Job description

The University of Vermont Health Network seeks a Registered Nurse for our Oncology Infusion team. In this role, you’ll deliver chemotherapy and biologic infusions, manage central lines, perform assessments, and coordinate complex care for oncology patients. You’ll educate patients and families, monitor for adverse reactions, and collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and interprofessional teams.
