Mercy is seeking Registered Nurses to join the hematology/oncology team on 7A. You will provide bedside nursing care, coordinate with units and other departments, and maintain patient rights and confidentiality.
Role includes 12-hour shifts (7a–7p or 7p–7a) with weekends on rotation, and a focus on compassionate, skilled care in a fast-paced environment. Educated and licensed RNs with BLS certification are encouraged to apply.
Overview: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Nurses work 12-hour shifts 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am with rotational weekends.
Current openings: Full Time Nights and Full Time Nights Weekends
Graduate or upcoming Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

We offer a vast array of experiences and opportunities surrounding the care of hematology and oncology patients. We treat patients in all steps of their journey. This includes workup and initial diagnosis, middle of their treatment process, and end of life care as well. We administer chemotherapy almost daily and becoming certified is a requirement. Our patients also receive radiation, surgical interventions, and transfusions. They require med-surg skills such as wound care, drain care, tube feeding, and pain management. Our unit includes remote telemetry monitoring for up to 13 rooms. We provide end of life care including pain and secretion management. We work closely with the Hospice team to meet the needs of our patients as well as their loved ones.
