Job summary

Garnet Health Medical Center Catskill is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Obstetrics team. You will provide patient-centered care using the Nursing Process, collaborate with a dedicated team to support moms, babies and families, and help ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Required NY State RN license, BSN preferred, 1 year med/surg experience, and timely completion of obstetric certifications/coursework.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (preferred).
• One year medical/surgical experience in acute care setting required.
• Current NY State RN license and registration to practice.
• Complete BLS; ACLS, NRP, STABLE within specified timeframes.
• Fetal monitoring and obstetric certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care per Nursing Process and Standards of Practice.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for implementing the Nursing Process based on established Standards of Practice and ensuring all patient care policies and procedures are adhered to in accordance with CRMC Hospital policies, the Nurse Practice Act, and the New York State Licensure requirements. The registered nurse will be able to exhibit critical thinking, effectively organize/prioritize accordingly, and implement evidence-based nursing.

The range for the role is $48.50-$74.60 hourly.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.

Minimum Experience

• One year medical/surgical experience in acute care setting required.

Required Certification/Registration

• Currently licensed and registered in NY State to practice as a registered professional nurse.
• Successful completion of BLS Provider Course prior to being released from unit orientation. BLS renewal not required once ACLS is obtained.
• Basic Fetal Monitoring within 6 months of hire.
• Successful completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 6 months of hire.
• Successful completion of ACLS Provider Course within 6 months of hire.
• Successful completion of S.T.A.B.L.E Program within 6 months of hire.
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification within 3 years preferred.
• RNC, RN, or Obstetrical Nursing Certification preferred.
• Completion of the Obstetrical Screening Exam Competency within 2 years of hire.
• Maintains all required certifications for the areas assigned.

Working Conditions

• Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well-lit, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards.
• Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
