Endeavor Health is hiring for a NICU Nurse Transition Program in Naperville, IL. This full-time role requires an Illinois RN license and a BSN within five years if the ADN pathway was completed. Training includes a 16-week NICU precepted period with dedicated education time.

The NICU is Level III with 35 beds; candidates may float occasionally to Peds/PICU, Special Care Nursery and Mother Baby. Night shifts are 7 pm–7:30 am with some day shifts for the transition period.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or higher in Nursing; if ADN, must graduate with a BSN within five years of start date.
  • Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Current BLS through AHA.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP) within six months of start date into position.
  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient RN experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care in accordance with Illinois RN Practice Act and hospital policies.
  • Assess patients’ conditions, recognize changes, plan and evaluate care.
  • Monitor patients’ progress and document pertinent observations.
  • Delegate appropriate patient care tasks to other staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with team to achieve unit goals.

Our NICU is a Level III unit with 35 beds focusing on strong family-centered care and single room setup. This program is for experienced nurses who have a desire to transition into NICU Nursing. During this program, candidates will train with a NICU nurse preceptor for 16 weeks and will have dedicated education time.Provides professional nursing care according to the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act, and hospital policies and procedures. Employs critical thinking skills, assesses patients’ condition, recognizes changes, plans and evaluates care, monitors patients’ progress, and records pertinent observations. Delegates appropriate patient care tasks to other staff. Functions as a team member to fulfill unit goals.
