Job description

This position is Sign-On Bonus Eligible. Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Located in the city of Santa Barbara, California, Cottage Children's Medical Center is recognized today as a regional referral center for the medical needs of infants, toddlers, and children throughout the tri-county area.

The primary focus of the 22 bed, Level III, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (served by a dedicated RN/RCP Transport team) is the provision of critical nursing care to the infant in crisis. The neonatal patient may suffer from a wide variety of medical conditions such as prematurity, respiratory distress, meconium aspiration syndrome, hypoglycemia, hyperbilirubinemia, sepsis and surgical conditions requiring pre and post-operative care. Care ranges from the acute phase to patient needs or conditions necessitating close observation and interventions.

The NICU utilizes a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team approach to meet the patient's needs throughout their hospital stay and we recognize the importance of parents and family being important members of the team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.

Education:
  • Preferred: Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Minimum: Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • AAP/AHA NRP.
Years of Related Work Experience:
  • Minimum: 1 year experience in a Level II or III NICU.
