Job summary

Cooper Norcross Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Neuroscience Unit. You will deliver patient-centered care in an ICU-adjacent setting, using the nursing process and professional judgment to support a wide range of neurological diagnoses.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of acute care inpatient RN experience, NLN-accredited nursing education, and current NJ RN licensure with BLS (ACLS/NALS/PALS as required).

Qualifications

• A minimum of one year or more of acute care RN experience in an inpatient setting is strongly preferred.
• Graduate of NLN-accredited School of Nursing.
• Current NJ-RN License; American Heart Association BLS certification; ACLS/NALS/PALS may be required for certain specialties.

• Communicate openly with internal customers and supervisors; deliver excellent customer service.

Short Description

The Registered RN is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self. Follows established policies and procedures. Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors. Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management and physicians. Applies Cooper core values. Other duties as required.

Overview

Cooper’s Neuroscience Unit is a 16-bed ICU paired with a state-of-the-art Neuro Interventional Suite, that together form an integral part of Cooper Comprehensive Stroke Center. Our nurses provide expert neurological care in both settings to ensure seamless continuity of care for our patients across a wide range of neurological diagnoses. With the most advanced technology and providers, Cooper expands its capabilities to care for neurological patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The healthcare professionals take tremendous pride in teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration. In addition, we provide outreach to bring stroke and neurological education to improve community health.

Part time, 7pm-7am, Weekends/holidays with rotation.
