Job summary

Medical City Plano in Plano, TX is seeking a Registered Staff Nurse to plan and provide goal-directed nursing care for patients, families, and the community, with autonomy supported by evidence-based practice.

The RN will coordinate care, advocate for patients’ health and safety, and apply growth and development knowledge to NICU populations, including a Level III NICU. Texas RN license and NICU experience required.

Qualifications

• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Neonatal Resuscitation must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• STABLE must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Texas State RN License or compact license required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN/MSN preferred.
• 2+ years NICU experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide goal-directed nursing care.
• Practice autonomously utilizing evidence-based practices.
• Coordinate care and advocate for patient health, safety and rights.
• Apply growth/development knowledge to NICU populations.

The Registered Staff Nurse is responsible for planning and providing individual goal directed nursing care that promotes, advocates for, and strives to protect the health, safety and rights of the individual, family and community. The nurse possesses knowledge of the principles of growth and development and the particular skills necessary to provide optimum patient care to the population for which he or she is employed. The RN is accountable for their practice and care coordination. The RN is expected to practice autonomously utilizing evidence based practices. The practice of the Registered Nurse will support the mission, vision and values of Medical City Plano and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• STABLE must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Texas State RN License or compact licenserequired
