Job summary

Cooper Norcross Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Mother Infant Unit in Camden, NJ. The unit specializes in post-partum care for the new dyad and provides extensive teaching prior to discharge.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of acute RN women and children experience, a valid NJ RN license, and BLS certification. The role requires working 7PM-7AM, weekends and holidays, in a full-time schedule at Cooper Norcross Health.

Qualifications

• One year minimum of acute RN women and children\'s experience.
• Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing.
• Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse).
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers).
• Certain specialties may require advanced certification (ACLs, NALS, PALS).

Short Description

The Registered RN is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self. Follows established policies and procedures. Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors. Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management and physicians. Applies Cooper core values. Other duties as required.

Overview

The Mother Infant Unit consists of 24 beds (between the 3rd and 5th floor of the Dorrance Building). This unit specializes in the care of the post-partum couplet. The care includes frequent assessments for post-partum complications of the mother and newborn including but not limited to preeclampsia, post-partum hemorrhage, and infant hypoglycemia. This unit specializes in offering emotional support to the new dyad while also providing extensive teaching and crucial education prior to discharge.
