Wesley Healthcare in Wichita, KS seeks an experienced Registered Nurse MICU to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced critical care environment. Qualifications

• Current RN license in Kansas.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required or obtained within specified days.
• Experience in MICU preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in MICU.
• Collaborate with physicians and care team to develop and implement care plans.
• Assess patient condition and safety, monitor pain, and report changes.
• Advocate for patients and families; promote evidence-based practice.
• Engage in professional practice activities and governance functions.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

• Assesses patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Assesses patient environment for any safety risks and/or non-compliance with regulatory standards.
• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Serves as an example of professional nursing practice and promotes pride in nursing for the organization, the community, and the health care industry.
• Demonstrates caring and empathy in all interactions and advocates for patient- and family-centered approach in all decisions and actions.
• Engages in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, bedside shift report, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
• Shares new knowledge with peers and mentors those with less experience.
• Participates in professional practice activities and advocates for shared governance functions.

Qualifications You Will Need

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date(RN) Registered Nurse
• Registered Nurse Diploma
