Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for MedSurg 2C- Medical Telemetry. The role covers 36 hours across 7p-7a with every other weekend, delivering patient-centered care in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

The MedSurg units provide a broad surgical and medical patient mix, emphasizing evidence-based practices, teamwork, and continuous professional development within a Magnet-recognized system.

Qualifications

• Education: Nursing Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred); BSN within 4 years required.
• License: Current RN MA license, BLS required.
• Experience: Prior acute Med/Surg experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
• Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

Department: MedSurg 2C- Medical Telemetry

Schedule: 36 Hours (7p-7a), with Every Other Weekend Rotation

About The Medsurg Units At Bmc South

The Medical-Surgical Units at Boston Medical Center – South play a vital role in delivering comprehensive inpatient care to a diverse patient population. These units, including Post-Surgery, Orthopedics, Orthospine, Bariatrics and Hospice beds, serve as the backbone of the hospital’s acute care services, managing patients with a wide range of medical and post-surgical needs. Across all med-surg units, nurses and interdisciplinary teams provide evidence-based, patient-centered care, focusing on recovery, stabilization, and discharge planning. As a central component of the hospital’s continuum of care, these units are instrumental in supporting patients through various stages of illness and recovery, ensuring safe transitions whether patients are moving to higher levels of care, rehabilitation, or returning home.

Compensation Range

$38.86- $80.77

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
