Description

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans with healthcare professionals.

Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery patients.

Administer and record prescribed medications.

Monitor patients' vitals and report adverse reactions to medications promptly.

Collaborate on discharge planning with the healthcare team.

Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care.

Maintain and update patient files, medical charts, and health records.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate medical information and provide individualized bedside care.

Prepare and administer medications as prescribed.

Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs as needed.

Adjust specialized medical equipment and interpret measurements.

Collaborate with healthcare team for discharge planning.

Educate patients and their families on care procedures.

Maintain adherence to best nursing practices and protocols.

Qualifications

Minimum two (2) years Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital setting.

Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited educational institute.

New York State RN License & Primary Source Verification.

AHA BLS Certification.

AHA ACLS Certification (Queens only).
