Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is seeking a part-time nurse for night shift opportunities in Glendale Heights, IL. The role includes conducting comprehensive assessments, developing and updating individualized care plans, administering medications safely, and educating patients and families about health conditions and treatments.

The position requires an Associate's in Nursing with a preferred Bachelor's in Nursing, strong teamwork, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills.
• Ability to educate patients and families effectively.
• EKG/advanced life support knowledge beneficial.

Responsibilities

Job Description

• Starting Pay at $37.50/hr
• Schedule: 24 hours/week; Nights 7:00pm - 7:30am, w/rotating weekends and holidays

Eligible clinicians have the opportunity to earn salary increases of up to 20%* through our Clinical Ladder Program based on experience, professional development, and achievement of advancement criteria. Clinical Ladder participation is voluntary. Salary adjustments are determined by program eligibility, advancement level, and organizational guidelines
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
