Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis is seeking a Night Shift RN to join the Medical Oncology Chemotherapy team. You will deliver comprehensive direct patient care and oversee chemotherapy administration in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

You will manage vascular access, monitor patients for adverse effects, and ensure strict safety protocols for cytotoxic agents. A valid Indiana RN license and BLS are required, with ONS chemotherapy certification to be obtained within 6 months.

Qualifications

• RN license with Indiana registration is required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• ONS chemotherapy credential within 180 days of hire.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program.
• ONS chemotherapy certification is required/preferred within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care, including safe administration of chemotherapy/immunotherapy.
• Monitor for side effects and allergic reactions.
• Oversee vascular access devices (PICC lines, PortaCath), blood draws, and infusion therapy.
• Ensure strict adherence to cytotoxic agent handling protocols.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver comprehensive direct patient care, including the safe administration of chemotherapy/immunotherapy and closely monitor side effects and allergic reactions.
• You will oversee various vascular access devices (e.g., PICC lines, PortaCaths), blood draws, infusion technology, and strict adherence to protocols for safe handling of cytotoxic agents.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in Chemotherapy credentialed from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
• Certification specializing in Chemotherapy credentialed from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)
