Job summary

Florida Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse to provide professional nursing care per hospital policy and the nursing process. You will prepare equipment and assist physicians during treatments while guiding Patient Care Assistants.

Strong critical thinking and a calm, fast-paced environment adaptability are essential. Responsibilities include patient interactions, collaboration with the team, and adherence to licensing and regulatory guidelines such as TJC, OSHA, CMS.

Qualifications

• Current Florida RN license required and active.
• Education: technical school or associate degree.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required or preferred.
• Telemetry/critical care course preferred.
• Telemetry experience preferred and helpful.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care aligned with hospital policies and nursing process.
• Assist physicians during treatments and examinations and supervise aides.
• Maintain compliance with licensing, regulatory guidelines and quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Delivers professional and technical nursing care to patients. Nursing care delivered complies with the objectives and policies of the hospital. Adheres to the monitoring of and compliance with all licensing and regulatory agency guidelines including but not limited to TJC, ACHA, OSHA, CMS, DCF, etc. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation when delivering nursing care. Prepares equipment and assists physician during treatments and examinations of patients. Assists in planning, supervising, and instructing Patient Care Assistants. The professional nurse must possess strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work in a stressful fast paced environment is essential.

CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and the hospital. Works with supervisor/manager and other members of section or department to promote a harmonious work environment. Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner. Answers telephones in a prompt and courteous manner. Displays concern and provides assistance or explains procedures as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations. Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Works with customers to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):

• Current Florida RN License
• Education: Technical School/2 years college/Associates Degree
• Current BLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certification
• Tele Experience preferred
• Basic Arrhythmia skills
• Completion of a Telemetry/Critical Care course preferred
• Computer Skills
• Ability to communicate in English
