Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver patient-centered care on a Med/Tele unit with cardiac and oncology focus. The RN will apply the nursing process, coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality.
You will assess and document, respond to changing patient needs, and participate in safety and quality initiatives while aligning with Mercy’s mission and service standards.

The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to provide safe, effective, and patient-centered care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. The RN evaluates the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinates patient care collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. This position upholds patient rights, maintains confidentiality, and performs all duties in alignment with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.
Med/Tele is a medical/telemetry floor taking general Med/Surg patients with Cardiac overflow and an Oncology focus. The patient population includes post op general surgery patients, Chest Pain, Cardiac Arrhythmias, and oncology patients requiring chemotherapy. Drips on the unit include Amio, Cardizem and other cardiac drips that do not titrate. Many of our patients have chest tubes and surgical drains. Acuity is really varied.
Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
Certifications: Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department-required timeframe:

Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest. Many of these would join together in 1986 as Mercy.
