Overview: Utilizes the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Nursing Diploma
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

  • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Overview: Assists in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of the operations and patient care of designated areas.
