Job summary

Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg Trauma unit to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with the care team and physicians, following established nursing models and standards of practice.

You will assess, administer medications, document care, educate patients and families, and advocate for patients to ensure optimal outcomes and a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nursing License in state of Texas or Compact state
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (BLS/ACLS)
• Bachelor's in Nursing preferred; Associates degree or Diploma in Nursing required
• Reads and writes basic English; good communication skills

• Assess patient condition on admission and each shift; report changes promptly
• Administer medications and document care; monitor therapeutic responses
• Provide prompt, compassionate care and respond to patient requests

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record. - Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

What qualifications you will need:

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Current Registered Nursing License in state of Texas or Compact state--Required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification --Required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors in Nursing Science—Preferred
• Associates degree or Diploma in Nursing--Required

CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

• Medical/Surgical Nursing experience--Preferred
• Medical Surgical ANCC Certification--Preferred
• Reads and writes basic English--Required
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.--Required
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills--Required
• Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partner needs.--Required
• Basic computer skills and proficiency--Required
