Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse for the Dallas Medical Center in Mesquite, TX. The role supports patients recovering from surgery and managing acute and chronic conditions, with nights and full-time employment.

The RN will provide comprehensive bedside care, collaborate with physicians and therapists, and educate patients to promote recovery and reduce readmission risk. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Prior acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients’ physical, emotional, and mental health.
• Monitor vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical indicators.
• Recognize and respond to deterioration signs (HR, RR, mental status).
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Serve as liaison between patients, families and the healthcare team.
• Educate patients on condition, treatment options, and lifestyle changes to support recovery.

We are seeking aMedical Surgical Registered Nurse,sometimes referred to asaMedSurge RN.These Registered Nurses (RN)playan important rolein our hospital by providing comprehensive care to patients who are recovering from surgery, managing acute and chronic illnesses, or undergoing diagnostic procedures. Med-surg nurses are considered the backbone of hospital nursing due to the variety and volume of patients they manage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thoroughinitialassessments and ongoing evaluations of patients' physical, emotional, and mental health

• Monitor vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical indicators to detect changes in patient conditions

• Recognize and act on warning signs of deterioration, such as changes in heart rate, respiratory rate, or mental status

• Safely administer prescribed medications (oral, IV, subcutaneous, intramuscular) andmonitorfor adverse effects or allergic reactions

• Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure the patient's needs are met

• Provide patient education on their condition, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments to support recovery and prevent readmission.

• Communicate effectively with doctors, specialists, physical therapists, and social workers to develop and adjust care plans

Qualifications
