Job summary

Agave Ridge Behavioral Health in Mesa, AZ is hiring a full-time RN for day or night shifts on 12-hour schedules. The 100-bed facility supports adults with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD and other acute mental health needs.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess a current RN license as required by the state of employment or be eligible to practice nursing.
• One year of nursing experience; previous psychiatric/mental/behavioral or substance abuse nursing experience a plus.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about conditions.
• Provide nursing care within standards of nursing practice and facility policies.
• Ensure physicians’ orders are legible and transcribed properly.
• Assess patient status continuously and document pertinent information.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status.
• Complete admission and discharge processing accurately.
• Demonstrate therapeutic rapport and professional boundaries.
• Coordinate unit activities as directed.
• Communicate therapeutically with patients, visitors, and staff.
