Job summary

Avera Creighton Care Center in Creighton, NE seeks a qualified Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive nursing care and coordinate with the health care team.

You will develop care plans, review physician orders, and educate residents and families on medications and self-care. The role requires state RN licensure and prior clinical or long-term care experience; evenings and a potential sign-on bonus are available.

Responsibilities

  • Provide resident care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan to the team.
  • Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare providers to support patients.
  • Develop and modify nursing care plans based on histories and assessments.
  • Educate residents and families about conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
  • Evaluate care quality, adhere to standards, and adjust plans as needed.
  • Coordinate admissions, discharges and transfers; supervise nursing assistants.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewDelivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, families, and friends to understand residents conditions, medications, and self-care skills; noting changing conditions and needs; re-evaluating care objectives.What you will doProvides resident care by reviewing physician prescriptions; communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the health care team; coordinating with other healthcare providers; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, families, and friends; conferring with physicians.Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories; examining residents; documenting residents physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors; conferring with family and friends; developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions, schedules, and timetables.Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing resident care goals; instructing resident, family, and friends to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions; providing information and resources.Evaluates resident's care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against resident care standards; reviewing resident's records; noting changing conditions and needs; re-evaluating care objectives; modifying nursing care plan.Maintains safe, secure, and healthy resident care environment by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations; adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns.Keeps resident care equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.Keeps resident care supplies ready by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; stocking items.Coordinates admissions, discharges and transfers to and from the facility.Directs, plans and coordinates workflow of nursing assistants and other nursing personal.Maintains competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
