Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor & Delivery to provide direct nursing care per policies and protocols of the organization.

This full-time (0.9 FTE) position supports patient care planning, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary coordination, with weekend rotation and night shift responsibilities. Kentucky RN licensure and BLS/ACLS timely certifications are required.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required on hire.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing required within 5 years of employment.

  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.

  • Performs duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.

Job Summary:

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Performs functions related to problem definition, data collection, interpretation and analysis,

  • Implements and monitors patient care plans.

  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

  • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.

  • Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with patient/family and members of the healthcare team.

  • Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.

  • Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.

Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • RN - Licensed as a Registered Nurse. Eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required upon hire AND

  • BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 45 days of employment in this position AND

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Healthcare Provider through American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS - Advanced Life Support Healthcare Provider through American Red Cross (ARC) required within 12 months of employment in this position AND

  • NRP - Certified as a Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider required within 12 months of employment in this position
