Job summary

ERP International is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Labor and Delivery unit at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, NC. The role involves continuous fetal monitoring, IV management, labor checks, and post-anesthesia care.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate Degree in Nursing, valid RN license, 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience, and required life-support certifications (BLS/ACLS, NRP). A government background check is required.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing from ACEN/CCNE-accredited program.
• NC or state-accredited nursing program may substitute as allowed.
• Current, unrestricted RN license from any state; BLS/ACLS; NRP certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor labor patients and perform fetal monitoring.
• Support management of hypertension in pregnancy and obstetric emergencies.
• Administer IV fluids, medications and pain management as directed.
• Assist provider with inductions and operative delivery.
• Provide pre-op for C-sections and post-anesthesia care as needed.
• Deliver patient/family teaching and discharge planning.

Sunday - Saturday, 12 and 8 hour shifts - overnight shifts only.

Job Specific Details and Tasks:

The duties for the HCW include but are not limited to the following:

• Perform monitoring of 500 to 950 triage patients per month, including continuous fetal monitoring, spontaneous rupture of membrane check, labor check, prolonged monitoring, rule out pre-term labor, decreased fetal movement, and Pregnancy Induced Hypertension.
• Perform monitoring of 210 inpatients per month, including continuous fetal monitoring, vital signs and assessment q15-60min and labor checks/cervical exams.
• Provide management of Pregnancy Induced Hypertension patients.
• Provide intravenous management (fluids, Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antibiotics and insulin).
• Perform lab draws.
• Provide pain management (monitor patient status on continuous laboring epidurals, intravenous narcotics, and emotional support).
• Assist the provider with inductions.
• Assist the provider with operative vaginal delivery procedures.
• Perform pre-op for C-sections.
• Perform procedures for transition of normal newborn (NRP as needed, bath, shots, assessment, breastfeeding assistance).
• Provide stabilization for transport of high-risk patients.
• Provide patient/family teaching.
• Support C-section deliveries as circulating nurse in the OR.
• Provide post anesthesia care for patients who have received epidural, spinal or general anesthesia.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Possess a Associates Degree in Nursing, from an accredited agency such as the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). As an alternative to the education requirements in the basic contract, the HCW may be a graduate of a state accredited professional nursing program OR a program accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
• Experience: Must have at least 1 year experience in the past five years in a Labor and Delivery Unit.
• Licensure: Current, unrestricted RN license from any state.
• Life Support Certification: Current AHA or ARC BLS/ACLS certifications. Must have a NRP certificate.
• Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
