Job summary

American Geriatrics Society is seeking a Registered Nurse for an office- and patient-care role in the Greater New York area. The position requires a current NYS RN license and a graduate of an accredited nursing program.

BSN is preferred, with prior clinical experience in acute or ambulatory settings. Ideal candidates will meet the minimum licensing requirements, be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and adhere to HIPAA and infection control policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing school is required.
• Current NYS RN License is required.
• All Age Groups served in patient care.
• Professional certification in related nursing specialty is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in office and patient care areas.
• Adhere to infection control policies and PPE usage.
• Maintain HIPAA-based access to patient information and ensure privacy.

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

• A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
• Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting

License/Certification

Minimum Required:

• Current NYS RN License

Preferred:

• Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
• Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned.

Work Environment

• Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients.
• Rooms are air conditioned and heated.
• Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.
• Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
• PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by Infection Control policies
