Job summary

Saint Luke’s North Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri is seeking an Interventional Radiology RN for a full-time day shift with on-call responsibilities. The role focuses on caring for high-acuity patients in the IR suite, including sedation during procedures and support for lymphovascular interventions, biopsies and related vascular procedures within the CVIR Holding/Recovery unit and other Radiology areas.

• ACLS certification within 1 year.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prep and recover cardiac cath patients.
• Provide nursing care in the Interventional Radiology lab with moderate sedation.
• Support procedures in the CVIR Holding/Recovery unit (e.g., TEE/Cardioversions, bronchoscopy).
• Provide nursing care in other Radiology areas during invasive procedures (CT/US Biopsies, MRI monitoring).
• Utilize the nursing process and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Collaborate with Interventional Radiologists, Anesthesiology and nursing peers.

Job Description Interventional Radiology, RN – FT Day Shift - Mon -Fri with Call Requirement

The Opportunity

Saint Luke’s North Hospital, located in Kansas City, Missouri. This location is seeking nurses with experience with higher acuity patients (Intensive Care, ED, procedural areas) to join our Interventional Radiology team. You will have the opportunity to learn and grow in your career, experiencing new procedures and clinical research. This IR – Special Procedures nurse position is a vital team member in providing care and sedation for organ biopsies, acute pulmonary and arterial thrombectomies, embolectomies, drain placements, port and dialysis catheter placements as well as other procedures. The Best Place to Give Care.” This position is in a busy, very unique procedural area caring for Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology patients. Duties involve prepping and recovering cardiac cath patients, working within the Interventional Radiology lab during procedures, providing nursing care, including moderate sedation when needed, for procedures performed within the CVIR Holding/Recovery unit, such as TEE/Cardioversions, bronchoscopy, etc; Additional duties include providing nursing care in other areas of Radiology during invasive procedures, such as CT and US Guided Biopsies, monitoring for MRI pacemaker studies, starting IV's as needed for staff.

Responsibilities

• Work within the Interventional Radiology lab during procedures.

• Delegates tasks appropriately.
• Demonstrates increasing discriminatory judgement in interpreting data and prioritizes appropriately.
• Initiates actions to improve nursing practice, patient care and unit processes.
• Serves as a day‑to‑day resource to colleagues at unit and departmental levels.
• Provides positive formal or informal leadership within unit and hospital.
• Works well with multidisciplinary teams consisting of Interventional Radiologists, Anesthesiology, Specialty Service providers, and nursing peers.

Shift Details

FT, Days. This position also requires participation in after hours and holiday on call rotation.

Job Requirements

• Less than 1 year Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
• Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
• Registered Nurse - Various Associate Degree
