Job summary

TALENT Software Services is seeking a Registered Nurse I in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a high-acuity ICU setting during night shifts. The RN uses the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards to monitor and evaluate patient status and respond to changing conditions.

The role requires at least one year in a critical care environment, strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, and meticulous charting.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a high acuity/critical care environment (excluding ER).
• Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, the bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways.
• Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in the examination of clinical and numerical data.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive care for patients.
• Assess, organize, and complete patient care with consideration for patient age, cultural, and psychosocial factors.
• Document all steps of the nursing process accurately.
• Employ proper medical terminology in all communications.
• Address problems and track progress toward established goals.
• Facilitate patient discharge through timely and appropriate referrals, utilizing patient education resources suitable for patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors.
• Collaborate effectively with other disciplines as appropriate.
• Support unit and hospital goals through participation in performance improvement and educational activities, evidenced by attending in-services, meeting unit education standards, and completing variance reports.
• Exercise independent judgment in planning the sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field.
• Engage directly with patients and/or customers.
• Communicate with internal customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and staff.

Schedule Notes

• Shift: Nights 7p-7a
• Critical Care Experience needed - must be able to hit the ground running.
• 30 Bed Unit ICU with an average of 12-14 patients.
• Not suitable for new graduates.
