Aspirus St. Luke's Clinic in Duluth, MN is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Infusion Therapy Clinic team. The position is part-time (0.70 FTE or 56 hours biweekly) with DAY/PM (evening) rotation and an 8-hour shift schedule.

The Staff Nurse provides professional nursing care, coordinates with patients, families and the healthcare team, and delivers IV therapies and oncology care. Minnesota RN license and BLS required; 1 year acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota RN license to practice as Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification required (Provider or Healthcare Provider).
• 1 year acute care or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, delegates to, and organizes nursing personnel.
• Coordinates information between patient, family and healthcare team; educates patients' families and staff; evaluates outcomes.
• Administers IV therapy (peripheral and central) and other parenteral therapies.
• Delivers anti-neoplastic therapy and cares for oncology patients.
• Ensures safe use and management of infusion devices.
• Performs therapeutic phlebotomy and other nursing duties as required.

Salary Range: $45.02 - $68.87 Hourly Schedule/Hours: DAY/PM (EVENING) ROTATION, 8 hours Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend FTE: PART TIME, 0.70 FTE or 56 Hours Biweekly

The Staff Nurse applies and demonstrates knowledge of the delivery of professional nursing care, including all aspects of practice, as defined by the MN Board of Nursing and reinforced in St. Lukes policies. Plans, delegates to, and organizes nursing personnel. Manages and coordinates information between patient, family and healthcare team members; provides for education of patients' families and staff and evaluates outcomes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: See Licensure/Certification/Registration requirements.
• Experience: One (1) year acute care or related experience required.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current license in Minnesota to practice as Registered Nurse. BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: N/A
• Experience: Preference is given to individuals with previous IV therapy experience, previous experience with Vascular Access Devices and/or previous experience in PICC line placement.
• Licensure/Registration/Certification: Vascular Access Nurse (VA-BC).

Knowledge of current principles and techniques of nursing practice; knowledge of the practical application of the nursing process and physical assessment. Ability to function as a team leader, primary nurse and role model; to accept individual responsibility and accountability for decisions and outcome; to communicate effectively with patients, families, personnel and Physicians and establish professional working relationships with the same; to recognize the legal limits of nursing practice; to maintain professional competency through continuing education and independent study. • Peripheral IV therapy and access devices
• Central IV therapy and access devices
• Long-term peripheral access devices
• Miscellaneous parenteral therapies

Applies knowledge and demonstrates proficiency related to the administration of anti-neoplastic agents and care of the oncology patient.

Applies knowledge and demonstrates proficiency related to safe use and management of external and internal infusion devices.

Proficient in bladder installation procedure.

Applies knowledge and demonstrates proficiency related to therapeutic phlebotomy.

READING - Advanced: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints.

WRITING - Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.

SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Intermediate Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw or interpret bar graphs to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
