Job summary

Hematology Oncology Associates of the Treasure Coast (HOATC) is seeking a skilled Infusion Nurse to administer non-chemotherapy IV therapies in a patient-centered environment. You will assess, initiate and monitor infusions, educate patients and caregivers, and collaborate with physicians to ensure high-quality outcomes.

This role involves managing IV access, hydration therapies, and coordination with the healthcare team while adhering to infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Florida
• 1–2 years clinical nursing experience; infusion therapy preferred
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Strong IV insertion and venipuncture skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed non-chemotherapy IV infusion therapies, injections, and hydration treatments per physician orders and protocols
• Assess patients prior to treatment including vitals, allergies and readiness
• Start and maintain peripheral IV access and manage vascular access devices
• Monitor patients during and after infusions for adverse reactions and respond to emergencies
• Educate patients and caregivers about treatment plans, side effects and post‑infusion care
• Document assessments, treatments, medications and outcomes in the EMR
• Maintain infection control standards and nursing best practices
• Coordinate care with physicians, pharmacists, NPs and other staff
• Maintain infusion supplies and equipment per clinic policies
• Participate in quality improvement and ongoing clinical education

Job Description:

Hematology Oncology Associates of the Treasure Coast (HOATC) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Infusion Nurse to administer non-chemotherapy infusion therapies in a safe, professional, and patient-centered environment. The Infusion Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, initiating and monitoring intravenous therapies, educating patients and caregivers, and collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure high-quality clinical outcomes.

This position involves administering a variety of specialty medications and hydration therapies, excluding chemotherapy treatments.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed non-chemotherapy intravenous infusion therapies, injections, and hydration treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
• Assess patients prior to treatment, including vital signs, medication review, allergies, and infusion readiness.
• Start and maintain peripheral IV access and manage vascular access devices as appropriate.
• Monitor patients during and after infusions for adverse reactions or complications and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
• Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans, medication side effects, and post-infusion care.
• Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, medication administration, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Maintain compliance with infection control standards, safety protocols, and nursing best practices.
• Coordinate care with physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain infusion supplies, medications, and equipment according to clinic policies and regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing clinical education.

Qualifications

• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN preferred).
• Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience; infusion therapy experience preferred.
• Strong IV insertion and venipuncture skills required.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience with specialty infusions, biologics, hydration therapy, immunotherapy, or chronic disease management preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
• Ability to work independently
