Job description

This position is located at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH. The Informaticist Registered Nurse (RN) exercises leadership in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of hardware and software applications integrated with the electronic health record (EHR) and associated programs/applications.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include but not limited to: Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, including other program and service leaders at the facility and network. Works closely to establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of Veteran Affairs (VA) staff nationwide. Applies advanced clinical knowledge/judgment to lead staff involvement in planning, decision-making, and evaluating outcomes beyond the immediate practice setting.

Communicates and treats customers (patients, visitors, volunteers, and all Medical Center staff) in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner. Provides the customers with consistent information according to established policies and procedures. Handles conflict and problems in dealing with the customer constructively and appropriately.

Provides care and/or services appropriate to the age of the patients being served, and which is appropriate to the cognitive; emotional, and chronological maturation of the patient.
